From: "DaveG601XL" Gig, Do you have the Dynon D-180 install guide? Trim and flap instructions are on page 3-16 of the latest version. It says to send the RAC orange wire to Dynon's 5VDC excitation, pin 18. The RAC blue wire to ground and the RAC green wire to the general purpose input of your choice. It works fine in my installation. What you cannot do is use the RAC indicator AND send the same indication to the Dynon. The RAC indicator puts out a 6VDC signal, so it over saturates the Dynon. The general purpose inputs coughs at over 5VDC of incoming voltage. Believe me, I tried it and found out first hand! I may be confused about what you are asking for but the wiring between the RAC grip and RAC trim actuators is in the RAC docs and doesn't go through the Dynon. The position indication does but the two systems are electrically isolated even though linked mechanically. -- Craig -----Original Message----- From: owner-zenith-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-zenith-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of Gig Giacona Sent: Wednesday, June 10, 2009 2:19 PM Subject: Zenith-List: Re: Dynon and trim. Because the way the buttons, including the PTT button share a ground and a DC power supply. I asked for a diagram of the whole thing to deal with that issue and then to check that I was reading the Dynon manual correctly. -------- W.R. From: "annken100" Gig, Sharing a ground with the other switches in the grip is not a problem, your PTT will work just fine. The ground you share with the PTT is always ground and never sees voltage. From: "leinad" Today I uploaded pictures of the Dan Wessman Corvair 5th bearing that I got running on my engine this past weekend. It was late Sunday evening before I got it running. The misquitos were biting me something fierce, but after I ran the engine for about a half hour, the prop was completely covered in misquito paint. Ah, sweat revenge!. The engine ran strong and smooth, I have a slight oil leak at one pipe fitting, and oil pan drain plug was showing a drop of oil. My front cylinders stayed significantly cooler, so I'll be looking at redesigning the air baffles.
