I'll third that. The amount of data I can download per day is limited by the
provider, and a huge picture must be scrolled.
However, there are times it would be nice to look at the details. Perhaps
things with a lot of detail might be resized for the email, and a full size
version put on a server somewhere so it can be downloaded if the detail is
needed.

That's a nice solution. It would be worth putting in Canadian Gooses'
compilation of builder resources. (http://www.ch601.org/). I wish I'd seen
this before I mounted my pitot tube.

You're kidding! That's excellent news Bill. It's pretty hard to get that
done without any cracks to stop drill and repair. Good luck and rapid
progress on the rest,

I'm going to pass on the fifth bearing. Nice as it would be, from what
I've gathered, the additional expense isn't justified by the way I fly.
And, with a nice light prop, you won't likely put a lot of side load on
the crank nose. There are so many out there flying for years without it,
that I feel pretty safe as is. (my bone frame has been subjected to so
much cumulative overstress that my design load is now +- 2G, and my
ultimate load is +-3G)

Paul,
That's great news. Now on with the build? Are you going with a 5th
bearing?

After 520 hours on my nitrided 20/20 crank I took my engine apart to check it out.
The main bearings looked new still with no scratches or copper showing. They
still had the aluminum sheen like they do out if the box. I was quite surprised.
My plane now sport the 100 hp IFB (integral front bearing) that I designed
for Aeromax Aviation. More data later but the stock nitrided crank should
be just fine for that application. I would use our new rear starter alt setup
though.

Sorry about starting a new thread, but those giant images render the old one unusable
to me.
I made my aileron bell crank access covers tonight. This is dimpled for flat head
screws, joggled for flush fit.
A few days ago I finished my LRI Probe.
What did you do?

Pretty nice, Dan
I did something like those access covers for the wing tips (I'll buy and
install the strobes much later). Look very nice, but time consuming to make.
Today, I dind't do anything worth photographing, but the centre wing
(601-HD) is looking interesting, now that the seat is in place.

I couldn't resist, so I went ahead and installed it, even though I'll just have
to remove it later.
Here's a photo.
