Spinning up the engine with the plugs removed is a procedure that is
referenced in AC65-12A. This procedure also clears excess oil and
preservatives out of the cylinder. Make sure to ground the magnetos or
plug wires or the mag coil can be damaged. The engine will slow down
quite a bit when the oil pump starts pumping oil. During engine buildup
there is no such thing as too much oil!
