      >From having done it, making a video would be a hell of a challenge! Hanging upside
down, little direct sight of anything. My mate used a bush to spot through
onto the angle. That meant the seatpans were an obstruction but it was 'doable'.

Our centre section was built in the Czech republic and so was dimensionally near
perfect, obviously made by CNC machinery - we could probably have drilled the
holes off the aircraft and it would have fitted perfectly. But those are not
the instructions, and to be fair drilling out the rivets gives some potential
      for the hole 'wandering'.

I suspect my problem with sensitive pitch control arose from the fact that
most of my prior time was in Cessnas (150/152/172) that have very
insensitive pitch control. I tended to overcontrol my 601HD in rounding
out on landing, followed by another overcontrol when I sent the nose too
high, followed by . . . - you get the idea! I had a helpful instructor
who had me do low-and-overs along the runway until I improved. This might
be a useful idea for a new 601 pilot before he/she actually touches down
for the first time, i.e. get the feel of the pitch control near the ground
      before doing it for real.

      List,

For those using the Jab USA supplied FWF kit:

Has anybody found the "Camloc Fasteners" (10 - Camloc #26S8-6) to be too long for
the cowl? Just right? or ?

My cowl thickness seems to be around .150" which would indicate a 26S8-4 or
      -5.

      I may be measuring incorrectly.....?

      Thanks for feedback.

Cowl thickness can vary a little bit and sometimes a -5 would work better.
Another option is to space the camloc body out away from the cowl with a
small washer or two between camloc body and cowl.

No response from Zenith on several subjects for the past couple of
      weeks.
Didn't receive any instructions for the installation of my Matco
brakes+wheels. If anyone has the applicable information for an HD/HDS,
      please forward. Thanks.

      Hi Bill,
The Matco install is probably not much more than getting the orientation
of the brake correct for the rotors and at an angle that
      will permit easy plumbing.
The picture of this gear shows the brake installed with the red cap on
the bottom and the brake angled down and to the rear.
This allows easy plumbing with the brake inside, or between the mains.
When installed this way, you should be able to jack the
fork and remove the wheel and rotor intact and without disassembly of
the brake assembly on the fork.

      http://www.macsmachine.com/images/gear/full/brakes2forks.gif
Then all you need is a tuff flex hose that can take the beating from the
brake to a connection with a standard brake line at the wing.
      http://www.macsmachine.com/images/gear/full/tubetireandwasher.gif
      Suggest the S83 Michelin 3.5 x 8.0 tires from a motorscooter
for $35.00 each with tubes that have bent stems. Farm and Fleet has
rubber fender washers that protect the tubes really well.

      Hope this is helpful,

I have a Rotax 912 (80hp) for sale. It was purchased for my series 4 project but
the project has been sold and the engine is now available. It has 1490 hrs SMOH.
It came out of a certified A/C(Katana).Very well looked after. I don't recall
receiving logs with it. I was not concerned at the time of purchase as the
logs were not needed for a home built. The compressions were 76/80,76/80,74/80,76/80
at time of removal. $5700.00 cdn. I am located in Cambridge Ontario.

      HI Bill,

My Matco's on my HD came with generic instructions for installation (not Zenith
Specific). I consulted with King Larry's website, found some photos and compared...
Found that my brakes provided were slightly different than his but basically
the same, the main thing that I found in Matco's instructions was to put
the brakes on the rear whenever possible. Contact me offline and I'll see
if I can snap a photo for you of what I did.

When in doubt, I consult Larry's website, all HD/HDS builders owe it to themselves
to visit his site. THANKS SO MUCH LARRY!!! Youve saved hours of head scratchin!!!

      Larry-
I just emptied the shipping box for the first time today- parts and old
newspaper but no instructions. I was more concerned with how to mount the
rotor assembly to the fork than anything else. 1/4" SAE mounting the rotor
assembly, with no spacers between the rotor and fork? Thanks.
