Then you should be able to drill the rivet out or maybe twist it out with pliers. Just a thought. I am stuck. Literally. See pictures - this is an A6 pop rivet. It won't budge, in or out. Access from the back is rather difficult, as the rear and front rib are already riveted. The A6 is one of the two last rivets in this station. I can remove the rear rib, but that's my last option - and I still will have a stuck A6 after I remove the rear rib. Suggestions? From: Carlos Sa Stubborn little bugger !!! I had to support the back of the spar with a 2x4, then hammer the rivet stem until it got through. Then I pulled it from the back with pliers. The remaining material (rivet less the stem) came out easily by pulling from the from, with pliers. Geez, what an experience ! Thanks to all that provided suggestions. Carlos CH601-HD, plans resuming riveting of centre wing. ________________________________ Message 4 _____________________________________ Time: 01:14:07 PM PST US From: "Chuck Deiterich" Subject: Zenith-List: 701 Upholstery Does ZAC still sell upholstery (seat cushions) for the 701? Maybe I'm not up on the latest info from Zenith, but I think that should be a solid rivet. The drawings I have dated Dec 9 state "INSTALL EXTRUSION WITH SOLID RIVETS, SAME DIAMETER AS ORIGINAL HOLE IN EACH LOCATION", and gives part numbers: MS20470AD-6-15 and MS20470AD-5-10. The A6 are used to hold four L angles against the centre wing spar. These L angles reinforce the attachment of four nose ribs to the spar at the landing gear stations. Here's a close up, bottom right in this picture: http://zodiac.pcperfect.com/images/CWing/cwing12.jpg In this picture, you can see the ribs in question: the two outer ones, on each side. Four ribs, 2 rivets on each one. http://zodiac.pcperfect.com/images/CWing/cwing15.jpg BTW, the pictures are from Don Honabach's project.
