Mornin' Gents,
Likewise, I am awaiting warmer weather
here in Missouri so I can go to the hangar and rip off the wings that
just got attached a month before Thanksgiving, or thereabouts. I'm
struggling with the idea of drilling out a thousand plus rivets and
destroying a perfectly good paint job. I was out there Saturday and a
few guys had some (3) propane heaters in the 80'X80' hangar and it
wasn't too bad. I went next door and there was an XL in the middle of
the upgrade. My heart sunk a little more as I looked upon the pile of
recently made parts that had been removed from wings and fuselage. I
commend him because he was still upbeat about all the extra work
involved. I was somewhat more inspired to get on with the modification
after talking with Mike. It's supposed to rain this weekend, so I think
it will be a good time to take some frustrations out on The Bird. I'll
disassemble it and transport it back to my old workshop that is fully
heated by a forced air furnace and begin again. To all of you in the
same predicament, I say "Good Luck", and keep on drillin'.
