If you lay out the new ribs to the 327.3 the counter balance weights will not clear the lower wingtip and will hang out of the wingtip if you install the weights on the outboard side of the square tube. The plans don't show this but the fix is either move the ribs 200 mm inboard or making the ribs 90 degrees of the hinge line. for those of you that have already rivited them as to the drawings you will have to install all but one of your weights inboard and one of the thin weights outboard to keep the tube from crushing. When it was rebuilt, the shop told me to adjust the idle and whatever else; I don't remember what they told me. I also don't know what are the rich and the lean sides on the mixture control. Plus; not being used to fly an engine with mixture... do we pull the knob to get leaner or reacher on the dash board? ---------------------------- Michel Therrien CH601-HD, C-GZGQ http://mthobby.pcperfect.com/ch601 http://pages.infinit.net/mthobby __________________________________________________________________ The new Internet Explorer 8 - Faster, safer, easier. I have att ached a photo of how I attached the control cable to the leaning lever on the carb. Set it up so that the lever is to the "rich" stop when the cont rol handle is fully seated against the stop at the panel. Pulling the con trol handle fully out will result in idle cut-off. The idle is adjusted with a spring-tensioned screw on the throttle arm piv ot bracket. See photo. It can only be adjusted through experimentation with the engine running. I set the engine running at the proper idle and marked the throttle control rod with a piece of masking tape at the contr ol ferrule. With the engine stopped, I then adjusted the idle screw so th at the throttle control would stop at the tape on the rod. Let me know if you have questions. Jay Bannister Do anyone knows how to setup these carbs (instruction sheet or simply brai n power)? Has anybody else noticed? If so did you change the gas struts? I would th ink that .312 will work fine as you are only talking .003 bigger in dia. to get a idea of what .003 looks like just pull a hair off your head as they are around .0035 in dia. Your reamer should have straight flutes and use l ots of lube and run at a painfully slow RPM. I would run around 75 rpm max. The slower you run any drill or reamer the tighter the hole is due to less wobble.
