So I've got the upgrade kit on hand. I've removed the solid rivets from the center section and the left wing and I've removed the angle on the top of the wing spar. Soon I'm gonna have to put it all back together and I need some advice. There's no one around that has a rivet gun and I've never bucked rivet one, so I'm in the position of having to buy the tools anyway I'm actually leaning toward a rivet squeezer instead of a gun/bucking bar. it seems like the learning curve is way smaller with a squeezer than a gun, and since I'm teaching myself on my spars I'd like to just get it right the first time The squeezer shown is a Atlantic Aircraft Tools Tandem Alligator 3" Deep Rivet Squeezer 1/4" Rivet Set Dies Its a tandem cylinder unit which means it has enough oomph to squeeze the spar rivets and the jaws have enough room to reach around the angles at the top of the spar used its about $300 Comments ??? Concerns??? Larry Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=286180#286180 Attachments: http://forums.matronics.com//files/squeezer_935.jpg

Sound's like the best way to go for you-, good gun and bucking bar are go ing to cost that much plus knowing to use it. with a squezer you'll set it by looking at the other rivets, and you don,t need another person to buck fo r you Take your time and Happy re-building---- Joe (one wing re-bui lt ,re primed and repainter ( a new color, and design)It's like getting a ne w plane! Enjoy what you have to do...P.S. Subject: Alieron Gussets
Can anyone help direct me to drawings for Alieron Gussets 65W2-5 and 65W2-6 ? I am doing the mods on the left wing and the gussets weren't supplied in th e mod kit. I seem to recall seeing the drawings for these gussets some tim e ago=2C being a modification to the alierons. If I can get the size and thickness of these gussets I'll make them. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Rob Taylor 601 XL _________________________________________________________________ Looking for a place to rent=2C share or buy?
