I've removed the required section of of top flange in preparation to install the heavier top "L" extrusion. The original solid rivets were installed from the rear, with the shop head on the forward side of the spar. I can more easily install the replacement rivets from the front side with the shop head on the back side against the new extrusion. Does anyone know if this is acceptable? It seems to me that it shouldn't make any difference. I did mine just like you with the shop head forward and needed more cork to protect the fuel tank. When I do mine I will face all the replacement spar rivets with the shop heads towards the rear. If you are using a bucking bar, 4 to 5 lbs is the magic number using a 3x gun. -------- Ron Lendon, Clinton Township, MI WW Corvair with Roy's Garage 5th bearing Zodiac XL, ScrapBuilder ;-) http://www.mykitlog.com/rlendon Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=292853#292853 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Other Matronics Email List Services ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Post A New Message zenith-list@matronics.com UN/SUBSCRIBE http://www.matronics.com/subscription List FAQ http://www.matronics.com/FAQ/Zenith-List.htm Web Forum Interface To Lists http://forums.matronics.com Matronics List Wiki http://wiki.matronics.com Full Archive Search Engine http://www.matronics.com/search 7-Day List Browse http://www.matronics.com/browse/zenith-list Browse Digests http://www.matronics.com/digest/zenith-list Browse Other Lists http://www.matronics.com/browse Live Online Chat! http://www.matronics.com/chat Archive Downloading http://www.matronics.com/archives Photo Share http://www.matronics.com/photoshare Other Email Lists http://www.matronics.com/emaillists Contributions http://www.matronics.com/contribution ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These Email List Services are sponsored solely by Matronics and through the generous Contributions of its members.
