The VP-X uses proven electronic circuit breakers to simplify wiring and provide advanced electrical system capabilities. Monitor the status of individual devices and the entire electrical system right from your EFIS. Avionics, lights, trim, and flaps can all be controlled using standard switches or the EFIS. The VP-X works with Advanced Flight Systems, Grand Rapids Technologies HX and HX Sport, and MGL Voyager/Odyssey Gen 2 EFIS products. How come someone just happened to be filming when it happened? Has anyone else come across these pics? Dave Johnson There I was just flying along, enjoying the flight... And what's so cool is they actually pay me to do this! Hmmm... What's that strange sound? Something feels different! Hey, why am I looking up? Whoa here. What the hell? ?Controls aren't working. Time for a mirror check. ?Hey, where's the rest of my F-15? Uh oh, it's over there. ?I think I've got a definite 'Aw, sh*t' going on here. I gotta wonder, am I the first guy to ever experience 'cockpit-airframe separation anxiety?' OK, enough is enough! ?I'm outta' here! But first, the canopy has to go... OK, now it's my turn. I'm gonna be gone - soon as I find that frickin' lower handle. Oh yeah, that's what I'm talking about. This 'incident' caused the USAF to ground its fleet of F-15's. What caused the mid air break up? The main "longeron" (stringer) behind the cockpit failed due to corrosion. ________________________________ Message 3 _____________________________________ Time: 01:49:37 PM PST US Subject: Re: Zenith-List: Fw: Fw: Oh Dear!!!!] From: jaybannist@cs.com I have seen this one before. It is true that an F-15 broke apart in fligh t, but I am not convinced that this sequence is real. -----Original Message----- From: Dave Johnson Sent: Tue, May 11, 2010 10:54 am Subject: Zenith-List: Fw: Fw: Oh Dear!!!!] O.K. maybe it's a bit 'off topic' and I'm not convinced that it is even ge nuine. As for "How come someone just happened to be filming when it happened?" The plane and pilot were flying formation. I ALWAYS carry a camera when I fly formation. What is a bit unusual is the camera angle of the pictures. The picture is from the top down with the plane ACUTE. This is NOT an accepted position. He should have been ON THE LINE / On Station. MAYBE the pictures were taken to SHOW the NUGGET that he is acute. Also at one point picture 3 the camera ship is in a position of being over head as if the other ship was doing a Cross Under. But again he is way acute. I would have kicked him OUT. Also it looks like he lost his canopy in picture #6, in #7 there are either particles of the canopy or vapor. Same in Pic #8, in #9 particles of canopy and pic #10 - NO CANOPY. Of course the pictures could be out of sync. What I see missing is the trail of wires, cables and debris from the canopy section.
