Zenith calls out a brake line clip to hold the brake lines to the gear. They suggest part # 024-0030. Has anyone located a source for these, or perhaps a better alternative? I considered using Adel clamps, or something similar, but that seems a little kludgey. -- ======================================= Jim B. I have pictures of the ZAC demo 601XL from both 2006 and 2008 where it is obvious the self-adhesive clips come off with regularity and new ones were re-applied. An archive search should find where someone made a trailing edge sleeve out of aluminum that encased almost all the brake line run. I remember where someone just used 600 MPH tape and basically did the same thing. I am currently flying with the adel clamps and am happy with them. Good luck, -------- David Gallagher 601 XL/Jabiru 3300 First flight 7/24/08 Upgraded 3/19/10 150+ hours and climbing! I made a female form in a 2 x 4 and pounded the aluminum strip into the form with a long bolt shaft into the brake line bead, then with a larger pipe for the gear leg part. The photo is a crude one I just made to give you an idea what I am talki ng about. I used three per gear leg. I originally applied them with JBWe ld, but that didn't last long. I re-applied them with a regular epoxy and they stayed on. Some of you I have met in person, so many that I have never met but have been with me through this project since 2002. I just want to say thank you for the encouragement, help, sound advice, in formation, photos, drawings, parts, ideas, techniques, web sites, lessons learned, stories, debates, Scotchbrite advice, humor and especially the fr iendships. Many of you don't even know how much you've helped, but your contribution and presence on the lists have been a tremendous help. Yesterday, I had my inspection completed and received my airworthiness cer tificate. I'm surrounded by many experienced pilots at Spadaro Airport in Long Island, NY to help me through the next phase of this adventure/dream/crazy idea. Thanks Matt Dralle for making it all happen he re. I especially want to thank these people from the lists. Today, N56DV took it's first flight. Whoo-hoo!!! I shouldn't have been surprised by the heavy left wing, as I've been reading about it for years, but it was heavier than I expected on takeoff, needing full aileron trim. Otherwise, no major issues. Now, 39 1/2 more phase 1 hours to go. Thanks go out to the Corvair and Zenith building communities.
