Or getting a composite ground adjustable pitch prop? Sounds easier than carving
a prop.

Juas curious, why top mounted struts, and not a belly band like on Bonanzas 34s?
the wings folded on the opposite.

>I have been at MIT for four weeks now and everything is going great. The flight
testing with my top mounted struts is now complete and they have been removed.
They will be replaced with cable. In the meantime, I de-rated the airframe
to 1200 pounds, Normal Category, Vne 138, Va 92 MPH.

>I have added a 2 .032 extension to the 0-200A lower rear cowl lip and have seen

struts. They will use the same outboard mounts and may use the inboard mounts
or may pass through the cabin as a single cable. After flight testing with
the cable(s), I hope to raise the rated gross weight back to 1320.

The top strut flight testing gave me needed input on whether additional strength
was required in compression, tension, both or neither. The need appears to
be in tension. I can now use the same inboard and outboard mounts for a thin
cable and re-gain the 15 knots I lost with the 1 1/2 inch round struts. A single
cable through the cockpit would be best, but I am worried about it breaking
off--I don't know if you saw the movie Ghost Ship. So too, I can fair the
struts and put them on again in less than 5 minutes if additional NTSB/FAA/Zenith
data demonstrates a need for strength in compression.
I just met with the Sec. of the Air Force (Ret.) and just last week, my friend,
another girl from IMSA, finished basic training at the Air Force Academy. Really
cool!
Of the 19 of us hired, 10 were grad students, 3 seniors, 3 juniors, 2 sophomores
and 1 freshman.

Larry,
I anticipated a call from you prior to me passing through Bend last Friday.
I'll be passing your way once again in a week of so, so give me a call on the number
provided as I'd like to see the plane.

I am sorry, I am away from the house. The plane is pretty much sold and I
have a deposit on it, but a deposit is just that, so if you want to stop
buy and you like it, we can talk. The people who want it are on the east
coast and are planning a trip for early November. I have some reservations
about that. They told me that if I change my mind, they would understand,
since they are coming so late. Let me know if you want to stop by and look
and we will see what happens.

Mack,
Don't mistake this, the other people have first choice, but if they decide
that they do not want to make the trip or do not like it, at least you will
have looked at it and I can get it sold. Just wanted to clarify.
