Hi,
Regarding the comment
"Thin Stainless sheeting is a pretty good conductor of heat, so it would not
protect rubber hoses very well if it was in contact or very close. That's why it
is recommended to use thermal-insulated hose covers where heat may cause problems
"
The tape has excellent reflective properties of heat radiation, much better than
a black hose.
I have used it with very good results. But of course thermal insulted hose covers
are the
standard approach.
Happy flying,
Klaus

Has anyone used a Canopy Air Vent(s) and has any advice/opinion on if they are
worth it?
I have the two air vents installed (one pilot/one passenger) on the fuselage side
that vent into the cabin that work great in flight on my 601HDS, but holding/wait
times on the ground they don't do much if anything.
The airport I fly out has some long hold times during peak periods. This morning
was about 15 to 20 minutes at Deer Valley (KDVT) and opening up the canopy post
pre-flight is a bit of pain and so on. Add in Phoenix, Arizona heat and it
definitely gets toasty at times.
My hope was that the canopy vents would catch my idle prop and act more like an
open/cracked canopy.... any thoughts?
As an aside, I'll be flying my 601HDS into Copperstate next month - hopefully some
other Zenith builders are coming as well.
Thanks,

I'll be flying in - haven't decided if I'm going multiple days or what yet
though. Probably a definite for Friday, just haven't decided about Thursday
and Saturday yet. I'm local to the area, so I may just fly-in each day ...
