Anyone considering a Viking engine please be advised,
I have had $4,300 deposit since Oct 28th and payment in full since May 8th and
still haven't seen my engine yet.
I called Jan today and he hung up on me and all I got after that was voice mail.
I don't think that I would be ordering an engine from him.

Seems like the person knocking a wonderful experiment in finding a new engine and
making it work in LSA's is upset. The person complaining must have believed
as many do that it would work wonderfully and be half the price of the Rotax.
He also knew that this was a new project for a business dedicated to finding
a reasonable option. Personal diatribes against the experimental community,
businesses and people who honestly work in it really aren't necessary. The
complainer did agreed to the experiment when they placed the deposit and made
the order for an engine that's never truly been tested in many aircraft before.
What's really changed? The facts are that some of the engines are late because
of design updates and ones so far in aircraft run well. Delay is also well
known function of the experimental market. Some people will be upset with
delay but most won't. We can always grow up and pay for the Bombardier if we
want well tested engines now. Honda thought the engine was worth selling, and
on the track it simply screams while holding up under vicious conditions. It
also has the the same reliability on the water. So far it looks like the experiment
is working, and working well. Time will tell. I for one hope it works
well and Jan makes a few bucks on his dedication to the experimental community.
Patience Prudence. You can ask in writing to get your money back instead of backbiting.
I'd bet you would get a check.
A quote from ADM Rickover is in order. "Great minds discuss ideas, average minds
discuss events, small minds discuss people"
