John, =0A-=0AI built four free standing uprights out of 2X4 that were app
roximately the right height.- Two shorter ones for the roots and two tall
er ones for the tips.- They are essentially two uprights with a top and b
ottom cross piece with a "T" at the bottom of the uprights to that they sta
nd up on their own.- The trick is to make the uprights about two inches s
horter than you think you will need and then use padding and blocking to fi
ne tune the height before drilling.=0A-=0AHope my description helps as I
am away from home-due to-work and therefore can't give you any pictures

Subject: | 701 Kit for sale |
My Zenith 701 airframe kit is for sale due to health concerns. The tail
feathers are completed and the right wing with flaperons is covered. The
left wing is almost ready for cover--it needs wing tank and wingtip skin
installed before disassembly, debur and riveting . I have many
construction photos. and will include some tools and jigs that I have
made and a lot of clecos. I was not planning on wiring the wings for
lights, but have PVC tube running through the wing to facilitate future
wiring. I also have some of the Croke construction videos. The selling
price will be what I paid Zenith for the kit. This is approximately
$1,000 less than what a new kit costs today and a lot of the work is
completed giving the new owner a good jump-start. Buying a kit at this
stage should allow the new owner to get their repairman certificate (by
completing 51% of the aircraft.)
The kit price of $13,725 included: Airframe kit & finishing kit, bubble
door option, electric trim, metric tape measure, drill bits, 4
handiclamps, rivet spacing fan, 8 inch file and edge marker block. I
will also include a rivet gun, hand riveter, jigs that I have made and
extra clecos (you can never have too many.) I have a large compressor
that I will sell at a much-reduced price. Please respond to me off list
