List
One of the reasons the fuselage stops were specified is to keep ham fisted pilots
from jamming the ailerons against the outer stops and bending ribs, rear spar,
or over touqueing all the components between the stick and the wing stops.

Subject: Zenith-List: 601 XL Upgrade Question
I am nearly complete with the 601 XL Upgrade. I am trying to install the aileron
stop in the fuselage. With everything pilot drilled and clecoed in place the
top of the stop assembly rides the aileron turnbuckles slightly. In addition
the assembly will interfere with re-adjusting and re-safetying the turnbuckles
for future re-adjustments. Has anyone found a better way to install an aileron
stop in the fuselage? How?
Thanks,
Chuck Maggart

Chuck
I had a dimensional problem with one of the brackets that were supplied in
the upgrade kit.
I modified the height slightly with a new bracket to avoid the turnbuckles
and cables.
And I had to move one of the nylon fairleads to the elevator cables.

I left that feature out of my upgrade. The explanation for a second
aileron stop was it was meant to prevent damage to the ribs when someone
kicked the stick too hard when getting in the plane. I came to the
conclusion that this might be possible with dual sticks but was just
ridiculous with a center stick. My plane has the center Y stick.

I left the upgrade stop out as well.
I had already installed a stop around each control column/6DS3-1 (as opposed to
than one that limits movement of the torque tube/6B17-4 itself.)
