Hi List - Anyone out there who might be building a 601XL or 650 using a Lycoming 0235 engine.Where are you putting your battery and what kind are you using? I know this engine is heavier than a lot of other solutions so I am concerned about the forward C/G and have no idea how to figure that BEFORE the airplane is complete. Any help or advice is certainly appreciated. Thanks, Steve Freeman

Steve, My 601XL has a Corvair engine. I mounted the battery, along with the batte ry contactor and battery bus (fuse block) behind the passenger side seat. (see photo). I later moved the fuse block to the floor to make it more acc essible. Hi Steve, Have you tried calling the Zenith factory? I am told that Caleb has a spreadsheet that positions battery versus engine type and weight. Regards, John CH701 - Colorado - Jabiru 3300 Cell: 719-494-4567 Home: 303-648-3261
