No, this will be the first Air Venture I have missed since I was 9 years old.
If you see my bird up in the air Saturday over KARR, say hello. I will still be
here in Switzerland but it is due for its fifth conditional inspection this
month. It has been sitting on the tarmac since 2007 and with the local winds
has flown a lot more (albeit while tethered) unmanned than manned.
I thought I might make it back for the last weekend of Air Venture, but I have
been invited to visit the Casino in Monte Carlo (Monaco). An hour flight to the
coast sounds so much better than eight hours back to the states.
