Subject: | Re: rivets vs UHMW |
UHMW is also a structural material it can withstand impact and can be used
as a bearing material.
It also has been proven to be a good wearing surface against abrasion.
Proof of that can be seen in snow plow were the UHMW make the surface
against which the snow roll out of the way above the road scraping blade
Also hockey rink sides, liner in quarry hoppers and silos as well as sliding
and rotary bearing surfaces.
I happen to design stuff with that type of materials and it is all in how
you apply it to a particular situation.
Just my two cents... You mileage may vary

A good four point system is what I have. It holds me in the seat with the standard
three bolts, one on each side and the double shoulder harness is attached
at one point at the back longeron.

Hello, Ron
That's the type of set up I am thinking of.
What type of latch do you have?
Thanks for your comments
