Subject: | Wing root rubber fairing material question |
Hi Group,
Been a long time since I have posted. I am poking along on my project
and hoping to be flying to Osh Kosh next summer.
Question for all of you. Does anyone have any pictures showing close-up
detail of how they installed the rubber wing root material across the
top of the wing, around the nose and along the underside?
Any help and/guidance is appreciated!

Hi Jay...
This is a huge help.
How did you get it to lay flat as you go around the nose? Also, did you
cut out the bottom side of the material as you go over the spar? DO you
use glue to hold it down? IF so, what kind and at what point did you
apply it?
Thanks for the photos...Your plane looks awesome1

Steve,
The flange that touches the fuselage stayed pretty tight by itself. If it
flares as it goes around the nose, I have heard that a little "nudging" wit
h a heat gun might help. I did have to glue down the flange that lays on
the wing in just a few places. Otherwise, no glue needed. On the bottom,
I stopped it just short of the spar.
