From: FLYaDIVE Carlos: Take a look in AC 43-13 and even in ACS catalog. They will show how and where it is done. *Barry* *=93Chop=92d Liver=94* NJ has taken the next step. They are identifying cars with bad drivers. You will notice some cars with a large red "R" on them. That is to identify the drivers as "R"estricted. Restricted is just a polite way of saying Bad Drivers. Be cautious around them. From: Jay Bannister Another tip -- I honestly can't recall why, but my EAA tech adviser (Mel Asberry) told me to always clip off those sharp pointed tips on the thimble . You are correct. I was told this was to keep the thimble from binding against the nico press sleeve. I was also told to make sure to smooth the ends you cut with a file so there is no burrs to rub on the wire. Common sense really. From: FLYaDIVE Yes, Jay: The reason is if/when the cable flexes the eye ends do not cut/rub on the enter & exit cable. BUT! You also have to smooth the eye by fine wheel grinding. *Barry* *=93Chop=92d Liver=94* NJ has taken the next step. They are identifying cars with bad drivers.
