Subject: | Re: Aiming Taxi and Landing lights |
Steve,
I took my taxi light and aimed it to hit the ground about 20 feet in front of me
while in the ground taxi, or level longeron position. For the landing light,
I have it angled more down so that in the landing position, which is longeron
angled more up, the light still shines out in front of me. Not a whole lot
of science was used in angling the landing light. I picked an evening and would
push the tail down and see where the light hit. I adjusted it until it looked
"about right." I flew a few times at night and it worked OK. I don't really
do any night flying these days, but it is there if I need it.
Since you have four lights to work with, you have more options in which to aim
the lights around. Personally, I had more problems with taxi illumination than
landing illumination. I had more issues with trying not to hit things during
taxi than I did during the landing sequence.
Good luck,
--------
