Subject: | XL fuselage form block CAD files |
Good morning!
I'm going to be making up my fuselage bulkheads and instrument panel in the next
few days, but before I break out my trusty pencil and ruler, does anyone happen
to have CAD plots for the form blocks they wouldn't mind sharing? A PDF
file would be even better.
There are a few sources for wing rib plots, but fuselage bulkhead form blocks
seem to be a little harder to come by.
OK group. Thanks in advance. BTW, I posted this to the other Zenith list too
in case someone hasn't migrated over. Looks like a common problem with these multiple
lists is going to be multiple postings. That's fine. My delete key works.

Awesome! Can't wait to finish mine.
By the way, how mirror-like is that finish? I polished the hell out of a piece
of aluminum just out of curiosity and even though it's mirror-like, it's still
not super-clear, and just getting to that point I noticed I worked a piece of
.025 down to .024. So how mirror like is that surface really to get it to a point
of 'good enough'. Looks great in the video!

Andy:
It is completely mirror-like.

You just have to stay with it. Read the material on Perfectpolish.com. It doesn't
really remove material, but it folds down the grain. I made about five passes
with the F9 Nuvite. It took weeks to do and made a mess but it was worth
it.
Keep at it and you will be practicing landings like I'm doing in no time. This
afternoon it was perfect weather here in Nebraska and I did several touch-and-go's.
I'm really liking the way the 601XL handles.
