Do you get much glare from the sun off your wings? Did you polish the bottom of your airplane? Is it holding up? Is it easy to clean bugs off? Interesting points. Also, yeah, how well does it hold up, how long til you have to polish again and is there something to keep the polish job from fading, just wax maybe? He did polish the underside of his wings. You can see the tie down ring in the picture that he linked to (the one that shows his daughter's reflection). Scott - you did a really nice job... -------- Patrick 601XL/Corvair N63PZ (reserved) Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=181738#181738

The glare was livable and usually only a problem early in the morning or later in the day. I did polish the bottom and it made it easier to keep it clean. The polish held up great. It took about 50 hours to do the initial polishing and less than 5 hours per year in upkeep. The latter involved soaking a towel with water and wiping the leading edges down after each flight and then taking a dry towel to finish. Each such action took less than 5 minutes. The polish held up for four years and looked great when the aircraft was sold. Stan Building a 701 and polishing as I go

There's no glare when flying, but when I'm pulling it out in the sun I get a pretty good flash now and then. I did not polish the bottom of the fuselage but I did do the wings. The polish job is super durable. I haven't touched it and it looks like the day I finished last year. I wiped some mud off the wings the other day and it was no different than wiping off a painted surface. It is really maintenance free. I haven't hit any bugs yet. It hasn't warmed up enough in Nebraska for the bugs to come out in full force. I'm going flying in the morning and will have something to report after that. Scott.
