Basically was getting at that the wrap could age them I believe, maybe trap condensation. He said he if he does wrap that he only secures the wrap with hose clamps to he can more easily inspect them. cookwithgas wrote: > Yesterday I was able to fly my 601 for the first time in 2 weeks. I got it and mounted it and here's a photo. Now on to the cowling cowling, prop and nosebowl. All of which I already have on the shelf. For those of you who follow my website I'll get it updated in the next week or so. -------- W.R. Is that light blue the aircraft's overall color, or just making the engine compartment look nice? > Now on to the cowling cowling, prop and nosebowl. All of which I already > have on the shelf. Since I started flying there have been a few things I wanted to change. The exhaust was one of those items and I'm very happy with my last iteration of the headers. The other change was my intake system that I recently cleaned up and powder-coated. Now if I can just find a way to change the weather to something more flyable. What's the idea behind wrapping pipes again anyway? And how did the moisture get in there in the first place. cookwithgas wrote: > Yes, William warned me about the wrap verbally and he was right once again as I suspect it was the last straw. Take a look at the log entries starting here: http://mykitlog.com/users/display_log.php?user=rlendon&project=113&category=0&log=27672&row=234 The only variance is the 1.75" should be 2.3" or 58mm. I had to remake it on the left wing and learned a valuable lesson about moving to fast and jumping to confusion. The second and third ones came out perfect and I figured out how to place the 3/4" x 4' x 8' and 3/4" 4' x 4' all by myself without hurting myself. I didn't get any pictures of the process because I was stooped over with a sheet of MDF on my back. -------- Ron Lendon, Clinton Township, MI Corvair Zodiac XL, ScrapBuilder ;-) http://www.mykitlog.com/rlendon Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=186613#186613 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Other Matronics Email List Services ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Post A New Message zenith601-list@matronics.com UN/SUBSCRIBE http://www.matronics.com/subscription List FAQ http://www.matronics.com/FAQ/Zenith601-List.htm Web Forum Interface To Lists http://forums.matronics.com Matronics List Wiki http://wiki.matronics.com Full Archive Search Engine http://www.matronics.com/search 7-Day List Browse http://www.matronics.com/browse/zenith601-list Browse Digests http://www.matronics.com/digest/zenith601-list Browse Other Lists http://www.matronics.com/browse Live Online Chat! http://www.matronics.com/chat Archive Downloading http://www.matronics.com/archives Photo Share http://www.matronics.com/photoshare Other Email Lists http://www.matronics.com/emaillists Contributions http://www.matronics.com/contribution ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These Email List Services are sponsored solely by Matronics and through the generous Contributions of its members.
