If you use the pre drilled holes the bottom of the tie down ring will be inside the wing sheeting. Is this the way every one has done it or have you moved it out one hole. I just moved it down one hole and put an L angle doubler behind the rib inline with the tie down holes to make up for the lost rivet. ________________________________ Message 3 _____________________________________ Time: 06:25:43 PM PST US Subject: Zenith601-List: Re: Tie Down Point From: "Ron Lendon" I don't see the problem with where it is located. All ya do with it is thread a rope through to attach it to the earth. I would leave it alone or call Zenith for an explanation. -------- Ron Lendon, Clinton Township, MI Corvair Zodiac XL, ScrapBuilder ;-) http://www.mykitlog.com/rlendon Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=188210#188210 ________________________________ Message 4 _____________________________________ Time: 09:24:35 PM PST US Subject: Zenith601-List: 1st Solo Today in N5SL From: "cookwithgas" Today, June 16, 2008 at 11:10AM CST my instructor signed me off for my first solo. N5SL and I left the earth in a great leap and climbed to pattern altitude in record time. I turned crosswind, downwind, then base and final and brought us back to earth for a truly memorable occasion. What a ride! I did several more before I had to lock her up and get off to work for at least part of the day. She flies a lot faster and climbs like crazy with just my 170 lbs. I can't wait to get to the airport tomorrow and practice some more. One of the notoriously shy hangar dwellers walked over and told me how good he thought my engine sounded. He didn't even notice I was flying alone for the first time! My daughters got my t-shirt and colored it up with sharpies and I treasure it. Thinking of making a frame of some kind. What a great day!
