One clamp goes on the tailpipe itself, and the other on the engine mount tubing. Both of mine on the engine mount (both sides) broke on the way home; we discovered this when we had the cowling off to change the oil. One clamp had departed the aircraft, and the other was held on on one side only and flopping loose. Garry at AMD said that was there to provide some extra support for the tailpipe. My mechanic said that he didn't see why it was there, and he recommended just leaving it off; Garry agreed that that would work fine. Comments?
