Hey everyone
I just consolidated a lot of the web site and got in some new products in
like aluminum and stainless intakes, Starters, and pulleys.
Check it out at _http://www.aeroliteproducts.com/Aerolite_s_Products.php_
(http://www.aeroliteproducts.com/Aerolite_s_Products.php) I will be getting
more products in this week and I have almost finished my test stand and will
post some pics of it on my web site.

Hi,
Has anyone fitted a Reddish or ACI stall warner in their 601, I have the LR tanks
option and was wondering if there is space to fit a stall warner in the small
gap between the tank and the LE skin. Does it matter how far outboard on the
LE the stall warner is?
Or has anyone fitted any vane type stall warner in the leading edge with good results.
Rob

AMD uses a vane type warning sensor a couple of feet in from the right
wingtip on the leading edge. Works fine.

You keep producing these videos right after I DON'T need them. Thanks for the support.
:)
Out of nothing but curiosity why did you decide to release them in pretty much
reverse the normal building order?

Hi Gig,
I guess... "normal building order" is in the eye of the beholder!
I find no prerequisite skills that are gained by building - lets say - a
pair of wings or H tail and then finding a place to store and trip over
them for months while the fuselage is built. Also, with the fuselage
finished first, you have the mounting points in place to confirm the
proper fit of the H tail components and wings before riveting...
Having said that - I will say that if you are not building from a video
or getting help when building, then I would leave the fuselage last at
it is clearly the most complex structure of all... but not if you are
watching someone else show you which part goes first, what to rivet
first, etc. IMO, the challenge with the fuselage is not any tricky
riveting, cutting, etc, but rather the sequencing of the build process.
That's what Gus' expertise ( www.flywithGus.com ) provided in these
fuselage videos.
There are many opinions/points of view regarding this topic... I have no
problem with any of them... this is just my 2.5 cents!
Thanks for asking!

l, I put the rear case into a tub of water and baking soda, with some
electric and it removed the rust really well. I was able to disassemb
le the piece with ease! It worked so well, that I went down and bough
t a 45 gallon tub and just finished hooking everything up. I have 6 e
lectrodes in the tub and it is bubbling really good. I will leave it
in there overnight and part of the day tomorrow. Then I will see if s
he will come apart! I have soaked with oil, beat with a hammer and a
2 X 4 for 2 days and nothing has moved! It is solid. So, I am hoping
that this will get everything lose enough for me to disassemble the e
ngine. The rear case bolts just had no rust on them, nor did the plat
e on the bottom. They came out really easy. The one I had started to
remove when it was rusted, had a twist in it, so I am glad I stopped
and waited. This engine is the worse of the 2, so if works on this on
e, this should work for anyone! I will let you know in a day or so if
it worked. Sure beats trying to fill that tub up in oil! =0A

My .02 cents
-
One-reason I also-build first the-fuselage in my projects, is to-ha
ve the chance to work in-the instrument and-engine instalation,- mean
while-I work in the wings and empenage.

When I say "normal building order" I mean the order in which the Zenith build manual
suggests doing it which is also the order Nick suggested when I asked. I'd
also add to that the Zenith manual is much lighter in step-by-step instructions
as it gets further along.
The tail section shows virtually every step of the process and the wings section
assumes you learned a few things along the way. The fuselage section assumes
you learned a LOT of things already.
This is one of the reasons I posted that I hate that you came out with the videos
after I needed them. I really could have used them on the fuselage.

In a 601, your stall warning is when you can't see anything but sky
out the front half of the canopy. :)
