"Where did you get those boxes?"
Gig's question is referring to the Aviation In-Flight Storage boxes shown in
THIS VIDEO<http://mostlyflying.blogspot.com/2008/07/adding-storage-drawers-to-zodiac-601xl.html>
They are from the Aviation Section of The Container Store and they are
shown RIGHT HERE.<http://www.containerstore.com/browse/Product.jhtml?searchId=15109802&itemIndex=78&CATID=230&PRODID=10022603>

Frank,
How did you secure that cabinet to keep it from sliding around?

No actually I was asking about Alex's carbon fiber looking boxes that were pictured
in his post.
So Alex can you make those for sale? I assume they are pretty light. Can one order
specific sizes?

Thanks,
Now I will have something to do when I get back from Oshkosh. This is a more empirical
approach than the guess and cut method that failed me twice.
Thanks,

I plan on being at Oshkosh most of the week. I will probably park the
plane in front of homebuilt HQ. The sketch I sent is just a rough
sketch from memory, the dimensions may need some adjustment. N61BM has
a polished aluminum finish.

I once again am not going to be able to attend. But rumor has it that Garmin is
going to have a new toy on display. Please somebody get the specs and post them.
I was told by somebody who should know to NOT make the panel cut out for a 496
until after OSH. This tells me that the new toy might have a better screen and
a different form factor.

Subject: | 601XL Fuel Sender / Gauge Questions |
I have a few questions regarding the 601XL fuel system:
* Photo Assembly Guide page 6-K-1b references VDO fuel gauge P/N
301-020, and explains how to connect the wiring from the sender unit to the
gauge. Are these gauges supposed to be part of the kit, (I cannot find them
and do not see them listed in the kit packing list)?
* Is it more reliable to run the fuel tank and fuel sender ground
wires directly to the ground buss vs. grounding them to the airframe, (I am
priming all faying surfaces so I am concerned about a poor ground)?
* Does anyone know if the VDO fuel senders will work for anything
other than the VDO fuel gauges? Will they work with any EIS systems?
Thanks,
Dave Van Lanen

601XL Fuel Sender / Gauge QuestionsThe fuel gauges are not part of the
kit. (At least not mine.)
I used local grounds and they work well.
The senders work well with the Dynon D180.

Subject: | Hot Today, but 111K, 2450 RPM, 5.9 GPH |
The density altitude was 1800' on the 10' MSL runway. But, went for a ride
up over the Everglades and putt putt over the alligators at 111K, turning
2450 RPM, and drinking 5.9 GPH. (Continental O-200) This is pretty typical
operation. I'm sure that others can sip less fuel etc, but I'm just
pointing out what fun these airplanes can be! Go Fly! See the Dynon at THIS

Thanks for sharing. I am about to do my tests to figure out best rate
of climb for my 601XL with O-200.
What speeds do AMD recommend as Vx and Vy? What climb rates do you see?
