I ignored the plans of course :-)
I had existing holes in the extruded L's that form the upper longerons from
the old-style motor mount brackets. My QBK came with old-style brackets and
the holes for the motor mount bolts through the firewall didn't line up with
the holes in the actual firewall. When Zenith sent me replacement brackets
they sent the new "BRS" style.
More important to me was to not have the rivets through the fuselage side
skins and the L's interfere with getting a washer and nut on the bolts
through the motor mount brackets and the L's. Basically the horizontal
rivets have to be staggered relative to the vertical AN3 bolts.

The numbers don't add up too well 14mm is OK then 56mm is OK but then the
40mm [total so far 110mm] lines up with the canopy tang which is 100mm from
the end so a no no there,56mm instead of 40mm would work and then 40 or 56mm
would be OK. What did you make yours ?Cheers T87
