With Dave's permission I will add them to my web site and give the list a note
that they are there.

I just got off the phone with Roger at ZAC and he said that they should be offering
a set of plan pages specific to the 650 changes soon -- maybe as early as
September. One would assume that this is limited to those who hold registered
601XL plans from Zenith, with a serial number.
I'd rather not hold him to the ballpark price he gave, but suffice it to say you
couldn't buy too many cups of Starbucks for what he thought they may charge.
Once again, my respect for the Heintz family and the ZAC crew has just gone
up another notch!
Call me a 1251 builder (601 + 650) or a 649 builder (almost a 650), but I like
the changes and plan to incorporate them all.

Roger at ZAC has confirmed that AMD is putting the BRS in the 650, behind the new
(more foreward) baggage back bulkhead. This shifts the CG back some, but keeps
it out of sight and away from other baggage.
As I get closer to that step, I hope to get plans and installation advice from
AMD. They've been helpful to date. If anyone else on the list gets it before
me, please post or send me a private email at larrywinger@gmail.com. Thanks.

Since I already have my saddle (6B21-5), I asked Roger if that works on the 650
with its new rudder. The answer is "yes." No change.

Subject: | Automotive Conversions Vol 3 |
HI Guys,
Ive just gotten into the 3^rd Volume of Alternative Engines and its
really great read. 56 articles and project studies have a lot of
conversion information on specific automotive, turbine, diesel and turbo
engines, including Subaru. Each includes a complete descriptive of the
electronic ignition, fuel systems, cooling, mechanicals, installation
variations and performance. Special articles on radiators installation
and sizing, evaluating engine performance, re-drives, planetary, geared
and belted are described for large and small engines. Considerably
strong outlines on the EA81 and the EJ22 Subaru are provided to also
compare them with air-cooled TC engines. Both are described as used with
belted or direct drive props for 100 to 130 hp.
The 3^rd Volume's illustrations drawings and photos are 1000-word
quality, well worth the price for someone considering an alternative
engine. The automotive- conversion can save you a whole lot on initial
purchase, fuel and general maintenance.
For those who would ask, its $42.00, ordered thru
www.ContactMagazine.com <http://www.contactmagazine.com/> or by phone at
1-559-584-3306.

I notice on the data sheet for the 650 that only the Jabiru and Continental
are listed. I wonder if one should read anything into this, other than maybe
the Rotax is priced out of sight, and the Lycoming is heavy?
