Internal and external static pressure CAN vary widely in an aircraft. I've pulled
the alternate static port control in a plane and seen a 500 ft change in altitude.
I've also done it in a plane where the change was barely noticeable. What
it will do in a Zenith I can't say. Plumbing in a splitter on your static
port line for the encoder should be neither time consuming or expensive. If I
wasn't getting my encoder data from my Dynon I would.

their Zodiac? ZAC says a static tube is not necessary since cabin pressure is
the same as outside however, will the encoder report correctly if you dont hook
it up to a static line/port? Also, if youre not using a static port, are
you just leaving the hole(s) empty in the back of the appropriate instruments
or are you running a brief tube that either connects the instruments or simply
left open within/under the panel? Thanks for any help you might provide!

The only gauge on your panel that has any significant current flowing
through is the ammeter. All the other gauges will have something on
the order of a few milliamps. The current flow is not an issue for the
sizing of those meter wires, the resistance of the wire is a bigger
factor. You don't want to go so small that the resistance of the wire
effects the accuracy of the reading.

You shouldn't have any problem using 18 ga. or larger for the fuel
      sender lines.

Thanks Jay!! I went to their site and like that they have sample pic's. I'm sure
I'll be contacting them sometime soon to see what pricing is like when I have
      my measurements ready.

      Hi Dave,

I had questions for Zenith on the subject of spacing and edge distance early on.
They were not too fussy about pitch or edge distance, provided the edge distance
was no less than 8mm and the pitch was 40mm or less, so as Ron says, just
reduce the pitch to suit while keeping your edge distance.

Oh, and don't be afraid to ask ZAC too many questions, that's your entitlement
      having paid for the plans.

BTW, nice to see an actual construction question here!

Please excuse this test. I'm about to leave town, and I want to be sure that
my autoresponder does not accidently include this list.
