A question for the list: has anyone (else) experienced a problem with the
pre-drilled holes for nose rib#3 in the right nose skin? The angle to which
rib 3 was pre-installed on the main spar, which seems to me to fix the
location of rib 3, and hence, the hole locations in the nose skin.
The holes in my nose skin are 17mm to the left of where it appears they should
be. It's easy to fix ... but I wonder if I've done something wrong, or if
perhaps the tooling is wrong at Zenith. If the latter, they probably need to
know.

Addendum: I also found that the holes for nose rib #4 are missing in the nose
skin. This is at least partially understandable, since the location of nose
rib 4 depends on whether the long range tank is being installed.
There aren't any holes for nose rib 4, for either configuration.

I remember when we had to walk to and from school 5 miles, in the snow, uphill
both ways. I also remember when you got all the aluminum from Zenith with no or
very few holes pre-drilled.
At first I was a little jealous of the newer kit owners but as the reports like
this one started to roll in I decided that measuring and drilling wasn't so bad
after all.

That's about my feeling. You take the good, and fix the bad. Still, there's no
point in Zenith continuing to ship skins with the holes in the wrong
location.
Assuming, of course, that this is the case.

ZAC has a long tradition of shipping parts with holes in the wrong places.
After I destroyed my first wing (partly due to horrible instructions
that didn't work for kit builders) I learned my lesson. I ordered
new skin with no holes for the replacement wing. They were happy to comply.
