Dave At least normal water-proof contact glue for the cork sticks well to the cortec I used to prime my aluminum tanks with. This is probably true for most primers as long the primer is not overcoated. I decided to use plain cork sheets as the properties of the sticky back cork glue is typically unknown. On the other hand you could test it with your primer, some water and some fuel.. If somebody has negative experiences with cortec priming of fuel tanks please speak up now before I close the wings... regards Max > Time: 08:48:10 PM PST US > From: "david van lanen" <davevanlanen@sbcglobal.net> > Subject: Zenith601-List: Priming Of Fuel Tank And Enclosure > > I recall reading a couple of posts in the past from builders who had > problems with their fuel tanks corroding through due to moisture between the > LE skin and tank. When I spoke (in email correspondence) to Zenith about this it was a categorical NO to this question....I was a bit disappointed to be honest as my understanding is that the elements that are suggested by the LAA for modification are the same world wide (like for example the wing attach points). PM me if you want the underlying correspondence...j -------- Cell +27 83 675 0815 Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=236494#236494

The CAA have checked the LAA proposals but are also awaiting news from the Dutch authorities who have been doing parallel studies. A lead aircraft has been identified for testing the modifications, which involve reinforcements to the wing attachments, centre section spar and the addition of aileron mass balances. The modification of the lead aircraft is underway under the supervision of LAA inspector Gary Johnson. > > > > Kev Are there any pics/drawings/sketches out yet, of these mods????????
