      Dave

At least normal water-proof contact glue for the cork
sticks well to the cortec I used to prime my aluminum
tanks with. This is probably true for most primers as
long the primer is not overcoated. I decided to use
plain cork sheets as the properties of the sticky back
cork glue is typically unknown. On the other hand you
could test it with your primer, some water and some fuel..

If somebody has negative experiences with cortec
priming of fuel tanks please speak up now before I close
      the wings...

      regards
      Max

When I spoke (in email correspondence) to Zenith about this it was a categorical
NO to this question....I was a bit disappointed to be honest as my understanding
is that the elements that are suggested by the LAA for modification are the
same world wide (like for example the wing attach points).

PM me if you want the underlying correspondence...j

I used alumiprep 33 then alodine 1201 then Valspar two part acrylic primer and
the cork sticks onto it like s..t to a blanket.Won't hopefully have to worry about
it for the next 20yrs. cheers

      > Following a meeting in Paris between LAA and Zenair management in January, including
Zenair designer Chris Heintz, modifications to the CH601XL design have
been drawn up and accepted by the LAA for trial fit as a UK modification package.
The CAA have checked the LAA proposals but are also awaiting news from the
Dutch authorities who have been doing parallel studies. A lead aircraft has
been identified for testing the modifications, which involve reinforcements to
the wing attachments, centre section spar and the addition of aileron mass balances.
The modification of the lead aircraft is underway under the supervision
      of LAA inspector Gary Johnson.
