He mentions and shows a FLAP stop (not an aileron stop), but I can't find that part on the drawings to save my life. Anybody has some more info on this? It restricts the upward movement of the flap. In the flap up position, the nose of the flap should be tight against this stop.? It is shown on Drawing 6-S-3.? It is actually called "Flap Gap Stop". One of my flaps was loose and would wiggle during run-up but it never made a peep during flight. I finally put the stops so the flaps came up against the little nylon rectangle. It is a snap to install and only takes a few minutes. Thanks for staying on the subject of building and flying the 601XL. I'm so sick of the blah blah this list has become. In fact, I flew my plane for over two years and 150 hours without them. When I realized they were supposed to be installed, I simply drilled out three rivets in the upper trailing edge of the wing at the outer end of the flap and installed two pieces of nylon. It took about half an hour. Before I installed them, the outer end of the flap would flex upward slightly in flight, but it never caused any big problem. Now the outer end of the flaps make contact with the nylon stop just before the flaps hit the up limit switch.
