I'm no doubt a devout coward, but I always initially cut cables longer
thanthey could possibly need to be. Without a cable jig, it's almost
impossible to get them the right length. That way, I don't wind up finddling
around trying to s-t-r-e-t-c-h that extra inch that isn't there. Mine are cut
to reach the far side of the cockpit.
I don't doubt that I may wind up buying more cable, but that's cheap compared
to trying to the frustration of having the cable too short, or having to be
too ultra precise in my measurements.

F W I W:
In my kit, ser 6-5342, there was more than enough cable to permit the "rough
cuts" to be long. I had quite a bit of cable left.
I also had plenty of spare rivets left over. Zenith did provide enough
material in the kit.

Maybe ya could use a string first? A strong string should be able to get you pretty
close.

601 builders.
I have a CZEC built 601XL Rotax 921ULS motor mount that is for sale. It includes
everything except a couple of the bolts used for mounting.
If you are interested, I will sell it for $100.00 US, plus shipping. The mount
was removed from a 2003 XL. I also have a couple of other parts that would fit
a Rotax 601XL.
