Subject: | Re: Component KitsComponent Kits |
Just FYI
My budget says buy with only overtime money. This set the Component kits for me
to be the proper way. I have no regrets.
My 24x32 garage has to hold a truck 5 motorcycles 15 or so RC planes(2nd floor)
and some unidentified objects in a few corners. So with space being a concern
I had to do the components, I was able to build in 4 main orders from Zenith.1
rudder kit, 2 tail sectin -rudder, 3 winges with fuel tanks and 4 fusealdge
with controles and reamainder. I still have the 1rst riviet gun purchased through
Zenith with the nl y repair being an O-ring for the regualtor.
It has worked out well for me. I am down to one last box of parts and I see an
engine in my future. One of them pretty little Jabirus!
I question at times about the cost but my wife says its my dream so I need to keep
going.
Now if I can only get all the softball equipment and other activities out o the
way. My daugther is my first priority just as my son of 27 was.
She is the one unscrewing the lid off the rudder kit on my website. She was 6 then.
At 6 she liked helping and at 10 its still the same.
Aint life great!!
I even got a bonus at these economic times last week. A little closer to that engine!
Thanks to you guys that are flying and sharing the ocasional stories that makes
us smile as well as jelous. We'll see you in the blue yonder eentually!

Subject: | 601HDS/Jab2200 project for sale in San Diego |
Please spread the word: I'm offering my Zenith 601HDS project
for sale. The plane was started back in 1999=2C was built from
a factory kit by-the-book by a skilled and patient craftsman in
his early thirties=2C then got stuck in the "90% done=2C 90% to go"
phase several years ago as a result of increasing demands
of my day job.
The airframe is mostly completed=2C sitting on wheels in the
garage. It has the forward-opening canopy and the wing tanks
like the XL=2C but no flaps and bungee gear. (Incidentally=2C this
design never had flutter issues=2C caveat emptor.)
I have a Jabiru 2200 engine new in crate as shipped from the
factory=2C and the FWF kit. (What it lacks in power relative to
the bigger 3300 it makes up for in greatly reduced weight...)
All told I have about 600 hours of work into it. I estimate it will
take another 200 hours of work to mount the engine and finish
the wiring and plumbing=2C which would result in a minimalist flying
configuration. With the upcoming changes in my work situation
I simply don't have the time to complete the project=2C find it a
home and get all the paperwork finished--I decided I'd rather
be flying during the little free time I have=2C so my loss is your
gain.
I invested over $30000 into the project so far. I'm asking
$24000 for everything=2C including the various special tools.
If there are no takers for the whole package by the end of
the summer I will entertain reasonable offers for parts.
