Subject: Failure sequence in Yuba City accident

I question the conclusion that the horizontal stab was first to fail at Yuba City.
The transfered paint on the right stab leading edge was said to match
that on the left aileron and it was stated in the report that the attach brackets
sheared in a manner consistent with the right side of the stab being forced
backwards. This to me suggests that the wing failed first.
