I need some advice from the list.
601XL, Corvair, MA3-SPA, Dual Stick, Center Throttle. Need some ideas on
how to reverse the throttle cable travel at the carburator. I don't think the
DAR will go for "Push to close". I have some ideas but I wanted to see how
others have handled this. The cable connection at the carb is as shown in
WW's Engine installation manual.
Also using WW's fuel system layout the gascolator is less than an inch from
the right exhaust pipe. Don't think it's a fire hazard but is that close
enough to creat a vapor lock problem?

Andy Elliott came up with a pretty slick throttle reversing mechanism. You
might check with him.

Carroll,
I ran the throttle cable forward past the carb, then looped it back to the throttle
lever.? That way, there is no "reversal" required.? I can send? a drawing
and photos if you want.

Hi Carroll,
I have a Jabiru, so my problem is a little different from
yours. Still the principles are similar enough.
My problem was to connect dual throttle knobs with one
carburetor. This was done with a long torque tube mounted in the
cabin a few inches behind the firewall. There are three arms welded
to the tube - one on each end connects to a knob and the center one
attaches to a cable that goes through the firewall to the carb. The
tube is supported on nylon bushings - two bolted to the channel
running from the firewall to the instrument panel and two small ones
on aluminum pieces riveted to the side skin,
You could do a similar thing without the second throttle knob. If
you put the connecting arms on opposite sides of the torque tube then
the cable will reverse. You could also accomplish the same thing by
using a lever throttle instead of a push-pull cable.
