That is exactly what I had planned on doing except for the solid rivets I'll get the flange from Wicks and see if it is the same. Here are photos of what I've done to date: [] [] [] [] Steve Look Monticello, IL 601XL "Dogs have owners, Cats have staff" ________________________________ Message 3 _____________________________________ Time: 10:50:13 AM PST US From: LarryMcFarland Subject: Re: Zenith601-List: Re: Riveted fuel tanks Hi Stephen, The picture of the external clecoed joint on your tank is a strongest joint for TIG welding if you have someone that knows the process. I welded my tanks and the holes for clecos were welded shut after the seams were done. Just a thought, but the idea of worrying about riveted fuel tanks and using Pro Seal was not a concern that I could reconcile. Aluminum has such a large expansion and contraction coefficient that a riveted tank really needs a lot of them close together to stay leak proof not to mention the corners. http://www.macsmachine.com/images/leadedgetanks/full/vent-tube-at-weld-installat.gif Larry McFarland 601HDS at www.macsmachine.com Stephen R.
