Here's how it works... As soon as a List member makes a Contribution through the Matronics Fund Raiser web site, he or she will instantly cease to receive these Fund Raiser messages for the rest of the month! Its just that simple. Don't you wish PBS worked that way! :-) I really do appreciate each and every one of your individual Contributions to support the Lists. It is your support that enables me to upgrade the hardware and software that are required to run a List Site such as this one. It also goes to pay for the commercial-grade Internet connection and to pay the huge electric bill to keep the computer gear running and the air conditioner powered on. I run all of the Matronics Email List and Forums sites here locally which allows me to control and monitor every aspect of the system for the utmost in reliably and performance. Your personal Contribution matters because, when combined with other Listers such as yourself, it pays the bills to keep this site up and running. I accept exactly ZERO advertising dollars for the Matronics Lists sites. Just the Muff on the outside of the muffler can for cabin heat The flanges for the scat tubing themselves from ACS are aluminum and with continuous air flow aluminum should be ok. Not trying to be cheap just frugal. I can make a few things and it saves hundreds of dollars if not more. Thanks for the comments. Muffler -Heat Muff Rich, I should have pointed you to the construct that I did. It works well and I've only got 3/8 to 1/2-inch clearance from the muffler for airflow. No baffles inside either. Muffler -Heat Muff Since you have a water cooled engine, why didn't you just run the bypass lines through a heater core in the cabin? That would just about eliminate any risk of carbon monoxide in the cabin from an exhaust leak. Muffler -Heat Muff Bryan, I could easily take the heat directly from the radiator into the cabin, but the heat muff keeps hot air out of my belly mounted radiator which improves engine cooling by 7-degrees F. The 1-1/2-inch hole in the firewall is no real penetration nor worry as far as fireproofing goes. Carbon monoxide is also a non-issue as it's monitored at the panel. I get a 20-degree lift in near freezing temps from my existing setup, so it works for me and is low maintenance.
