Dear Listers,
There are just a few more days left of this year's List Fund Raiser! Response
has been very good, but still well behind last year. If you've been waiting until
the last minute to make your contribution and maybe even pick up a great
gift, now might be good time to show your support!
Please remember that there isn't any sort of commercial advertising on the Lists
and the *only* means of keeping these Lists running is through your Contributions
during this Fund Raiser.
Please make a Contribution today!

Thank you!

I do so enjoy the comments from the fringe elements of society. Although I
never mentioned the names of anyone or any group they certainly recognized
themselves.
I didn't mention ZBAG, but a response was made on their behalf by an
individual who dresses in a costume from a 26 year old Disney movie and is a
CFI without a medical. I even got a punctuation lesson from that same
person who made two spelling errors and five punctuation/grammar errors in
his reply.Honestly, though, that's much better than his common reply to
"shut the f**k up" of 12/22/08, 4/15/09 and 6/14/09.
To be called out of touch from reality by a person with no pilot license, no
flying experience and no aircraft building experience who considers himself
an expert in all three areas is indeed a compliment.
To those of you concerned about the monetary discussion, I apologize. We'll
all be taking it in the shorts(or in the spandex in at least one case) for
this one.
To all the rest of you who recognized the food for thought in the fairy
tale: fair winds, hot food and cold beverage.

WC,
I'd recommend you try flying the trike and using it a while, then
rethink the tail dragger idea. You'd have to redo the controls, the wing
skins
and structural connections with the spar. It's hardly a worth while
idea. The airspeed gained would never pay for itself and forget the see-me
factor, so what are we thinking here? You want to fight differential
braking in lieu of what is a great way to move an aircraft on the ground?
40 hours is missing a zero in my way of thinking. and the $1000 doesn't
count.

to convert to a tail dragger. How difficult would this be and how costly. A few
people knowledgeable with the 601 say it would be around a 250 hour job! YIPES!!!!
I e-mailed the factory and they said probably around 40 hours and $1000.00.
That seems a little optimistic (time wise)

Thanks for the reminder Matt,
My contribution is sent this morning and thanks again for hanging in there.
You're providing a really valuable knowledge site for our builder groups.

Thanks for your input Larry, i certainly appreciate it!! if this deal goes through,
I will probably do what you suggest and fly it for awhile. Chances are i
will take you up on your suggestion. I fly trikes for a living(slightly bigger
ones) So my "fun flying" has always been on taildraggers.
Maybe I need to rethink........thanks again for the input!!
Regards
Wade
