I was looking for this in particular in an airplane before I built it, which is why I chose the tri-gear, for safety and comfort. It is now disassembled and de-riveted waiting for the "upgrade kit" so I can be "comfortable" again. While it's a apart anyway, and I'm worrying about the effect on performance by adding weight and was wondering about the tail-dragger option. I would appreciate comments from anyone, and everyone, that has any experience with conventional gear 601's. It's obvious there'd be savings in drag and weight, but are there concerns why it shouldn't be done? Thanks. Yes, less drag, classic look, but for the ergonomics, you're not going to go that much faster than the Tri-gear to make it worth your while.
