Looking at some photos it seems that the best location for the brakes are the trailing edge of the gear. This makes the most sense to me. The Grove instructions show them in front and angled down. Can anyone clarify this? Does the angle make any difference? Hi Chuck, I don't think it makes a lot of difference, but I mounted my brake calipers on the front of the wheel. I chose this position because I was a little bit concerned about all the junk kicked up by the wheel damaging the caliper. I think it is less likely to hit the caliper when the caliper is in front.
