Hi Guys, My ch601 fueltank is located at the back of the instrument panel. (normal config if you don't have wing tanks) I have a so called "longer range" 65L tank. Then I have an electric fuelpump inside the cockpit on the floor. I have a terrible fuel smell inside the cockpit that I can't get rid off. Don't see any leaks, I've put a breather pipe inside fuel cap to try and get it to breath to the outside...no luck, Installed snap vents to try and force fresh air into the cockpit...still not good enough. Are there other guys that have the same problem? How can one get rid of the fuel smell? Thanks Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=296485#296485

Are you burning auto gas? I have wing tanks and I always had the smell of gasoline in my cabin when I first pulled it out of the hangar to go flying. It would seem to improve during flight. When the state started mandating alcohol in auto gas, I switched to avgas and haven't had the problem since. I think the problem was just the fumes from some of the more volatile stuff in gas venting and seeping into the cabin as it sat idle. The stuff they mix into auto gas these days really makes it stink. > > Hi Guys, > > My ch601 fueltank is located at the back of the instrument panel. Friends. I have finally made the painful decision to sell Lil Bruiser, my Zodiac 60 1XL, as is, where is. It was damaged in a pasture landing accident. Sinc e I know I will never fly it, I just can't get up whatever it takes to rep air it myself. The nose gear hit a berm, bent the nose gear strut, bent the firewall, cabin floor and cowling sheet metal. The prop was stopped horizontally, so the wonderful William Wynne built Corvair engine and War p Drive prop were not damaged. It was a fully functional airplane, regist ered as Experimental - Amateur Built, and flown only about three hours. It has a TruTrack single-axis autopilot, Dynon engine monitor, ICOM radio, Narco transponder, Softcomm intercom and steam gauge flight instruments. It is for sale for $25,000. Adding $5,000 in parts and about 500 hours labor will result in a $50,000 or $60,000 airplane for $30,000. I will throw in the upgrade kit, still in the original packaging. Anyone intere sted can contact me off line for a complete list of installed equipment, photos or whatever you might need. You can also contact me by phone at 214-351-4757. Thanks, Jay Bannister, Dallas, TX

Jay, Too bad you won't be able to get it back in the air. I also broke the nose wheel early in flight but I did fix it, Also no damage to the engine. I can understand your position. I did come close to deciding not to continue on. Should anyone want it, I do have the complete floor pan from that repair that I never used, It seems the damage was not as bad as I thought and I didn't need the part. It is 6B10-1 on the drawings. I would be happy to sell it more just a bit more than the shipping cost. -- Mark Hubelbank NorthEast Monitoring 2 Clock Tower Place Suite 555 Maynard, MA, 01754 - USA mhubel@nemon.com 978-443-3955
