Paul
I'm with Jerry on this.
My CFI Velcroed a small video camera on the ceiling of his C150 and
recorded flight lessons on a 12V VCR. Now-a-days, digital recording on a
laptop would be better. The recording included the headset sound signal,
so I had a complete video record of every flight. The camera showed the
view out the windshield as well as most of the instrument panel. To
compensate for the difference in brightness between the windshield and
the panel, he attached a gray filter over the top half of the lens. The
resulting videos were very helpful to me when I later reviewed each
lesson. The panel wasn't quite readable in the videos, but it was not
difficult to interpret the steam gauge readings.
I plan to use a similar setup when I get to phase I testing. You can
also use the laptop to record all the data from an EFIS. Someone has
written a program to handle that job. Google can probably find a link.
Tinker around a bit and let us know how it works.

Having been allowed to wander off by myself without wifely supervision,
I found myself the new owner of a bright yellow Harbor Freight metal
stretcher/shrinker, which I immediately painted in camouflage colors,
and claimed it was an old war souvenir I've had for years.
Does anybody have suggestions and tips on how to get the best results
out of it? I foresee the opportunity to remove a few wavy edges on
pieces that I've inadvertently stretched during fabrication, and maybe
make aluminum wheel pants. Any tips are welcome. So far, I've learned
not to use too much pressure. Crunch it too hard, and the aluminum will
pucker up quicker than an ugly girl on Sadie Hawkins Day.

Can someone shoot me a/ some photos of how they put the plastic brake lines through
the wing spar cut out/channel with duel sticks fitted??
There is not much room and I was thinking of running them below the rudder cables
through the plastic.
or any other Ideas.. I don't want to go outside the fuse and under the spar that
way..

Hi Chris,
I guess you won't like my approach. I ran the brake lines (nylon tubes)
out the bottom skin up by the pedals and under the cabin all the way to
the gear spring. It may not sound very elegant, but it seems to work
just fine.

Chris,
I know that there is not much room, but the lines will fit. I used "Adel" type
clamps holding ribbed plastic split automotive wire conduit in which the lines
were passed through. The clamps were installed both sides of the spar to prevent
any interference with the cables. I also have dual sticks.

Chris,
Sorry, I don't have any good photos of it, but I did just what you are thin
king about. I ran the brake lines through the nylon plates that cover the
hole in the spar, just about an inch below the rudder cables. Worked fine.

Hi Chris,
I ran my brake lines under the cabin. Probably similar to what Paul did.
526 hours with no problems.
