Stretch one and shrink the other into circles. This will give you practice and teach you control. Go slow and keep the steps equal. Another thing is read books about metal shaping. Ron Fournier wrote a couple of books and has more tools for sale. I used to work with him years ago and can recommend him as a man of integrity. http://www.fournierenterprises.com/ You might want to take a look at my kit log site, making an aluminum nose bowl right now. -------- Ron Lendon, Detroit, MI WW Corvair with Roy's Garage 5th bearing Zodiac XL, ScrapBuilder ;-) http://www.mykitlog.com/rlendon Corvair Engine Prints: http://www.zenith.aero/profile/RonLendon Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=341554#341554 http://www.matronics.com/Navigator?Zenith601-List http://www.matronics.com/contribution ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 09:23:31 AM PST US From: Larry Winger Subject: Zenith601-List: Instrument panel access My forward top skin is in one piece, but I would like to be able to have easy access between the firewall and instrument panel in the future. Each one covers nearly one half of the skin with a couple of inches margin from the edges (I think). Inspection plates are typical ZAC design with about 12 nutplates and the same #10 screws as other ones. I probably have pictures somewhere but I am busy right now (eating lunch). If you would like to see them please let me know. Paul XL upgrade complete - reassembling wings to fuselage.
