Subject: | Re: plans built - no plans |
It looks like you can still buy a set of plans from Zenith: http://www.zenithair.com/zodiac/6-price.html. They list them for $340. It might be worth the investment.
That MM020 is probably a builder assigned serial number for the FAA paperwork,
not a Zenith plans serial number. The builder of a plans-built E-AB can call the
plane anything he wants and can assign any serial number he wants. You just
have to put something in the blanks on the FAA forms.

find ANY documentation or logs. I tried to contact the builder but hes disappeared
and Zenith wont help me because they say the serial number is not in
their records. I have questions about fuel system and have been trying to get
all the info I can find. I have gone through the forum and found many useful posts
but would like to chat with someone familiar with the design. Would anyone
here be interested in giving me a hand? I would also like copies of fuel system
as designed.

The canopy is a terrible mess as well. It looks like someone didnt like
to full span hinges on the ailerons and that they almost literally hacked the
skin apart with a saw and bolted on hinges Sad smile

I have a pix of the Zodiac HD Super" (or "Speedwing" as I like to call her)
as well as my other planes on my facebook page

Can't get in touch with the builder, a Morgan Melton in Missouri. Maybe someone
who is already registered would allow me to use their password to get on the
builder's forum. Or I guess I could see if anyone who is finished or doesn't
need the forum will let just let me us their serial number to get registered on
the forum.

the number of the plans based on the name of the person he purchased it from,
if he was the first owner.

They might be able to do that, but there might be legal or privacy issues preventing
them from doing so.

Subject: | 601XLB still for sale |
Due to life changes, my 601XLB is for sale. For sale is everything Firewall AFT,
as I have sold the WW Corvair that powered this plane. Some damage to the
nosegear mounting hardware after a hard (uncoordinated & totally my fault) landing.
So, you can have a completed (formerly flying) aircraft for a little
more than the kit cost. A little front-end repair work, install the engine of
your choice and youll be ready to go. Includes radio, transponder and all flight
& engine instruments. $17,000 for everything. Hangered in Livermore,
California (LVK). Type in N56DV on YouTube to watch the first flight (with
an ugly takeoff).
Thanks,
Rich Vetterli
