Congratulations Paul and thanks for the info.=0A=0A=0AWilliam Dominguez=0AZ

h-List: I finally finished Phase I.=0A =0A=0AMy Zodiac XL, N773PM, finally
completed Phase I testing and was signed off today.=0A=0AI'm sure many folk
s on these lists had doubts I would ever reach=0A that point, and so did
I.- After 7 years of work and waiting for=0A design changes the battl
e is finally over.- =0A=0AIf I can do it then anybody can!=0A=0AFor those
who want details:=0A=0AI've found I like using 1/2 flaps on takeoff and pr
efer full flaps=0A on landings.- Full flaps works on takeoff for a min
imum roll but I=0A am uncomfortable with the control available at such s
low speeds.-=0A Takeoff with no flaps works fine but uses a lot more r
unway.=0A=0AEasy cruise seems to be around 2700 rpm giving around 110 KIAS.
-=0A Push in the throttle and it is easy to get over 120.- I don't h
ave=0A wheel pants.- I didn't bother doing a formal calibration on the
=0A airspeed with standard pitot tube and adjacent static tube but I=0A
have watched the ground speed compared to airspeed with low winds=0A
and they seem to be very close to each other.- =0A=0AMy normal landing wi
th no traffic issues starts with slowing to 70=0A KIAS before pattern en
try (to keep from running over Cubs and=0A Champs).- I slow to 60 on d
ownwind and pull power to idle just past=0A the numbers.- A normal app
roach has me adding full flaps either on=0A base leg or final.- Some t
imes I slow to 55 or below on final to get=0A more sink but normal appro
ach is at 60.- I also have done slips with=0A all flap positions with
some success.- There is no loss of control=0A in slips but increased s
ink requires a deep cross controlled slip.=0A=0AUseful load winds up being
just over 200 pounds for passenger and=0A baggage.- This includes my s
omewhat overweight body and full fuel=0A (24 gal.).=0A=0AI have not done
enough cross country flying to have a good idea of=0A fuel consumption.
- I would guess at normal cruise the flow is around=0A 5 GPH.=0A=0AI c
an't really report stall speed since I can't get the plane to=0A stall.
- It just mushes.=0A=0AI made a couple of small design changes to make it
fly just a little=0A better.- The first was to add about 20 square in
ches to the elevator=0A trim tab.- I have a full width tab and still c
ouldn't trim out=0A approach speeds with full flaps.- I also added str
akes to the bottom=0A rear fuselage area.- I was hoping to get some ya
w stability and=0A failed, but it does seem just a little bit happier fl
ying straight=0A with the strakes.=0A=0APaul=0ACamas, WA=0AXL, Jab. 3300
