Subject: | "Black Friday" For List Fund Raiser...? |
Dear Listers,
The number of List subscriptions are up by a fair amount this year, but support
during this year's Fund Raiser is substantially behind last year, and there's
only about a week left until the end of the Fund Raiser. I have always preferred
a non-commercial List experience as many, many members have also expressed
that they do as well. However, if the yearly fund raiser cannot generate sufficient
funds to keep the bills paid, other sources of income might be required
including some sort of advertising. Please don't let that happen! Your personal
Contribution of $20 or $30 goes a long ways to keeping this operation a
float.
Please make sure your name is on this year's List of Contributors!

Subject: | Looking where to cut fuel line for fuel flow sensor ? |
Hi again. Everyone was so helpful with my previous questions, I thought I would
try to see where to cut my fuel line to put a fuel flow sensor in for my Jabiru
3300. Somewhere, I think it said downstream from any fuel pump. Would this
mean I need to put it in the short section of line between the Jabiru fuel pump
and the carburetor? This would be on the engine side of the firewall which does
sound best. I have a longer line from the firewall to the pump on the engine,
but this would be before the pump. Just wondered if anyone has put theirs
right before the carburetor, before I cut the line there. Thanks again, John,
still W8N2Bup.

?
John,
The instructions for the Dynon fuel flow meter say to put it in the longest, most
undisturbed straight run that is available. My fuel setup is two LE tanks
coming to a R/L/Off selector in the middle of the cockpit. Then the fuel line
runs downhill to the firewall and 90 degree turn. Then through a bulkhead fitting
to the gascolator on the engine side of the firewall. There is no header
tank. With that setup, the meter is between the selector valve and the 90 degree
turn at the firewall which is the longest straight run I have. It is also
downhill and under pressure since the Facet electric fuel pumps are out at
the tanks in the wings. Works well but I still use a stick in the tanks to test
fuel level before each flight.
